A
HORSE IN THE CITY – a series of segments about a
unique rural community in an urban jungle, now under threat from
developers.
Part I: Southlands History, was broadcast in June of 2005.
Part II on the rezoning of the Celtic Shipyards and the impact
on the surrounding community is in production as of June 2005.

VEIL is a short ghost
story shot for the Reel Fast Film Festival in the summer of 2004.
Monica Hilborn wrote and produced the film, with Kryshan Randel
at the helm. Cinematography was by Larry Lynn CSC, with Jason
Pope assisting. Livio Gambone shot the freaky dream sequences.

THE
GUARDIAN is a short thriller shot on 24p DV in the summer
of 2003 in the lush forest of the Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver.
Written & Directed by Monica Hilborn, produced by Rechna Varma,
Anna McMurtry, and Livio Gambone, The Guardian screened at the
Reel Island Film Festival, Whistler Film Festival, and Vancouver’s
VIDFEST. A mutation of Little Red Riding Hood, The Guardian starred
Sister Blue’s Stacy Fair, was shot and edited by John Ainslie,
features special effects, a layered sound design by Big World
Audio, and a rocking soundtrack by Jeff Tymoschuk.

FIXED INCOME, a DV short produced
in 2002, was written & directed by Monica Hilborn, produced
by Lexico (working under the name Hodge Podge Productions) along
with Barry McIntosh, and edited by Jean-Denis Rouette. Fixed Income,
which screened at the Toronto Online Film Festival in September
2003, experimented with special effects make-up and lighting for
digital film.
